There is so much you can do to continue to practice and improve your English outside the classroom, here we show you six ways:

1. Music

When listening to music, pay attention to the lyrics. You probably already know the lyrics to your favorite song and if not, nowadays you can look up the lyrics of your favourite songs. Something I like to do is google the song tittle + "lyrics" and I'll get the lyrics straight away.

This is a great way to practice your pronunciation and sentence structure.

2. Netflix

Whether it is your account or you borrowed it from someone else... Most shows and movies have an option to activate the subtitles. My recommendation is to set up the subtitles in English so you get more familiar with reading in English.

An added benefit of watching TV like this is that you'll get used to different accents and common phrases.

3. Documentaries

The best way to learn English is to relate it to something you're already passionate about. You can find short documentaries in Youtube on almost anything you can imagine. The great thing about this is that most documentaries include real people answering questions.

So Documentaries can help you with the structure answering questions, telling a story and increase your vocabulary in a topic you're interested about.

4. Online Courses

Same as in Spanish, one thing is guaranteed to increase your vocabulary and that is reading. What I like the most about online magazines is the variety on the different styles of English, from news and science to DIY's and quick tips. In many cases, you can download articles or listen to the audio version and, if you find a word you don't know, set up Google Dictionary in Chrome for a quick definition in any of your devices.

We have put together a list of trusted online courses according to the different level or English that you can

5. Language exchanges and Forums

A great way to improve your conversation skills if you don't know who to practice with, you are sure to find an English native speaker that wants to learn Spanish. The idea of the language exchange is that both people practice in turns and help each other. You can find some language exchanges in your area or we recommend an online version you can find in the list below.

Reddit is one of our favourite online communities for every topic you can think of. A section to look for is AMA (Ask Me Anything), where celebrities, professors or any regular people go in and you can ask questions or read their answers.

6. Travel

Out of the many ways there is to improve your English outside the classroom, living and breathing in another culture it's the best way to increase your confidence speaking English as you will have inevitable interactions with native speakers.

But not only that, in most places you'll find that there is also people from all over the world and you'll be sure to understand the many different accents and make friends along the way.
